Best Bits of Bodmin!

Last month, we ran a competition asking people to tell us their favourite things about Bodmin - memories, places, future plans, anything!

We loved your entries, and here are some of our favourites!

“Yesterday we had an amazing day on a steam train in Bodmin. My two year old girl was really excited and had the best day! All the staff were brilliant with her, and the snow at the end of the day made it all the more magical. We can’t wait to go again.”
– Gemma

“One of my lasting memories of Bodmin is quite a few years ago on one of our camping trips to South Penquite. We decided to visit Bodmin Jail, my daughter in a pushchair at the time and my son a few years older. All was fine until we got inside: while my son thought it was great, my daughter didn’t stop crying until we got outside again. Have not been brave enough to go back as of yet! That said, one of the things on my to-do list is to spend the night there with the Haunted Cornwall team.”
– Louise

“My favourite place is Bodmin Jail. My husband and I love the history of the place, the tour guides are excellent, the views are wonderful and to sit at the cafe watching the birds and the sun setting is blissful.”
– Alexandra

“I’ve grown up in Bodmin and now get to watch my children grow up here too! I loved visiting the jail and going on the trains as a kid so I’m looking forward to my kids experiencing it (the trains are already a favourite!)”
– Laura

“My favourite thing to do in Bodmin is to spend time with family and friends at Cardinham Woods.”

“The best thing about Bodmin is that it’s my home.”
– Diane
