Cornish Ceramics, Jewellery & Paintings
August 25th – 31st at the Old Lifeboat House, Porthleven
A fusion of work by five artists exhibiting work fired by imagination and referencing the seas, skies and cliffs of Cornwall.
Their Summer Exhibition – ELEMENTS – should not be missed at the Old Lifeboat House, in Porthleven during the last week of August.
ELEMENTS is a potent mix of stunning paintings by Barry Knight and Luke Knight; ceramics by Lesley Newman and Bryan West and hand tempered precious metal and sea glass jewellery by Shore Fine Design.
ELEMENTS is a celebration of Cornwall’s magnificent and powerful energy.
Cornish seas, skies and landscapes are interpreted by the different artists and resolved in their own personal materials using their own personal skills. The wild, untamed beauty, cruelty and vitality of this special unique County have been explored. Raw sea-glass jewellery sculpted by hand and cradling sea polished gems, reflect the intimacy and spotlight the power of wild seas. The paintings describe the panorama of colour and form to be discovered in Cornwall’s wild landscape. Clay is at the heart of Cornwall’s very soul and has been used here to illustrate just a few of the ways in which it can be worked.
Come and join us and share our personal attempts to harness just a little of what Cornwall means to us.
