About this event
The year is 1946. The war has ended. Peace has returned, but nothing feels secure.
The family of the late Maud Sinclair gather to hear the reading of her final wishes. Outside, Britain rebuilds. Inside, unresolved grievances begin to surface.
Maud was the steady and dependable one. The one who kept the family together while brothers went to war and sisters learned to fend for themselves. Or so everyone believed.
As the evening unfolds, questions are raised about Maud’s finances, her friendships, and the choices she made while others were distracted by survival. With a recently returned soldier among them and wartime secrets hovering just beneath the surface, the family must confront the possibility that Maud’s loyalty, and her love lay in unexpected places.
What begins as a quiet evening of remembrance soon twists into something far more unsettling, as Maud’s tangled life and hidden loyalties come to light. In a world craving order, the truth refuses to stay buried.
Set within the stunning grounds of Trebah Garden, this immersive production will unfold in promenade theatre style, with audiences moving through the landscape as scenes unfold.
