St Michael’s Mount

Arguably one of Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks, St Michael’s Mount is home to the St. Aubyn family as well as a local community, and is set on a small rocky island which features a medieval church and castle.

With buildings dating back to the 12th century, this National Trust property offers spectacular architecture and beautiful gardens, accessible by boat during high tide and a short, atmospheric walk across the causeway during low tide.

Visitors can immerse themselves in history as they stroll through this renowned venue, enjoying breathtaking views across Mount’s Bay and experiencing the calm and tranquil subtropical terraced gardens.

Children and adults alike will be fascinated by the history, legends and myths of this island as they explore the castle walls and follow the quiz, discovering the legend of Jack the Giant Killer and spotting the giant’s heart which is located in the pathway up to the castle, where it is believed the legendary giant fell to his death.

The Island Shop offers a selection of gifts and souvenirs, including a range of products inspired by the mount’s stunning gardens, and the Courtyard Shop sells gifts and local artwork to take home with you.

Visitors can also dine in the Sail Loft restaurant, a licensed venue serving up a variety of hearty and wholesome dishes, or the Island Café which offers a selection of hot drinks and snacks.

Take a historic voyage to this unique attraction and experience the magic of the island for yourself. For more information visit https://www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/.
