Learn traditional bookbinding techniques while making your own beautiful A5 hardback book.

In an easy relaxed way, Ken Futers will guide you through making a bookblock, a cover and finally how to bring them together to make a beautiful A5 book with cloth spine and Japanese paper cover filled with quality Fabriano paper.

During this full-day workshop, you will learn about paper grain, folding, collating and stitching together the pages to make a bookblock, before tackling the case (cover) and finally binding the two together. Not only will you leave with a beautiful A5 multi section hardbound book that can be used as a journal or sketchbook, you will also take home the skills to make many more at your kitchen table.

Ken Futers graduated in Textiles and after a long and successful career in retail and customer support started Books n Boxes in 2011. Completely self-taught in bookbinding Ken has gone on to teach hundreds of students.
