About this event
ALMA is a platform for art and conversation. Based in Newquay, we are creating a space for interesting events and creative projects to take place in our seaside town.
Throughout spring, we will present an exciting series of pop-ups – taking over spaces to create a site-specific events programme for the community. We want people of all ages and abilities to be able to access and enjoy interesting art, culture and creative activities. We want people to get their hands dirty and try something new!
It is widely understood that the arts have a positive impact on mental health and wellness. Harnessing the benefits of an inspiring programme of accessible, interactive and engaging creativity is a key aim of ALMA and at the heart of this programme.
What to expect : pottery workshops, photography pop-ups, dance gatherings, live music, exhibitions, plant pigment, artist talks and so much more. Please refer to our website for specific event details as we are not open every day.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Community Renewal Fund in Cornwall.
Accessibility
Details
The building is located in a municipal car park so there is plenty of on-site parking. There are stairs, so some aspects are sadly not wheelchair accessible, but we will do all we can to include visitors with special requirements. Some events may take place 'off-site' but this will be within walking distance of the venue.
