These events are part of ‘And Everything And Nothing Has Changed’ (2021). A 5 month Public Arts & Heritage Programme by Cornish Queer Artist & Producer Robin Sullivan.
A 3 day test firing of the newly built 4.5m high dual fired Kiln. Open to amature ceramicists, members of the local community, students, anyone willing to get stuck in… or anyone just wanting to pop by for a cuppa and a chat.
This is a labour intensive 3 day round the clock firing where we will be working in teams to keep the kiln firing for 3 days. Expect lots of chopping wood, stoking the firing, coffee, laughs and jazzy safety clothing.
This will be the first time we’ve fired the kiln, so it will be a learning curve for all of us, aka no experience required just a can do attitude! Of course if you have experience firing large experimental kilns please do come along… we can do with as much advice as possible!
Safety is a priority with these firings, so full safety clothing, equipment and training will be given… Knowledge of Campfire songs are a plus.
‘And Everything And Nothing Has Changed’ has been made possible with generous support and funding from; Eco-bos, Imerys, Austell Project, the Coastal Communities Fund, Creative Civic Change, Arts Council England, Cornwall Heritage Trust, FEAST, Royal Cornwall Museum, Wheal Martyn Museum, Cornwall College and Cultivator Cornwall.
