About this event
One of our leading novelists, Andrew Miller has ten titles to his name, published in translation in 20 countries and including the Booker-shortlisted Oxygen and the prize multi-award-winning Ingenious Pain. We talk to Andrew about his latest book, The Land in Winter, set in the West Country in December 1962, which explores the interior lives of the occupants of two marriages, imprisoned in their own homes by violent blizzards – the harshest in living memory. Where do you hide when you can’t leave home? And where, in a frozen world, could you run to? The Guardian said: “Miller conjures his characters and their times with a subtle brilliance that is not to be missed”.
