About this event
Araminta Greaves Fibreista’s Spinnery can be found in her garden at the foot of Roughtor on the edge of Bodmin Moor, next door to Roughtor Farm’s tea room. The Spinnery will be full of hand dyed fibre for spinners and felters and funky hand spun art yarn for adventurous knitters and weavers.
Inspiration packs for spinners and weavers will be available for sale and visitors will also be able to create their own inspiration packs from Araminta’s fibre stash. Inspired by the North Cornish coast nearby and the moor on her doorstep, Araminta also creates both wet felt and needle felt pictures for sale as orginals, prints and cards. Araminta also weaves unique cloth for wearables and homewares on her Saori loom and shawls on her triloom. Visitors will be welcome to try their hands at weaving on a peg loom or spinning yarn on a wheel or drop spindle.
Accessibility
Details
You will be able to park directly opposite the garden gate which means a very short walk from the car to the Spinnery. The ground in the garden is a bit uneven and there is a small step down towards the Spinnery and a slightly larger step up into it. The door is wide, though the Spinnery itself is quite small. The toilet is in the house which, unfortunately, is not wheelchair accessible due to steps and narrow doorways.
Directions
From A39 on Bude side of Camelford turn onto Higher Cross Lane. Go straight through Tregoodwell, stay on that road for about 1 1/2 miles. Go straight through the crossroads, down and up the big dip and Misty Cottage will be on your left.
