Learn how sailors of the Royal Navy armed themselves for combat with Cutlass, Musket, Pistol and more before and during the Napoleonic Wars. An interactive talk with demonstrations.
Battle onboard ship during the age of sail was bloody and brutal affair and require a wide range of weapons to keep the flag raised at the stern. Whether a naval vessel, packet ship or merchantman all need to defend themselves on the high seas.
Following the talk there will be chance to take a closer look at some of the weapons and yes you can handle (under supervision)
