About this event
I cultivate flax and hand process it into linen. I also spin, weave and embroider wool using fleece from my Poll Dorset sheep which has often been vegetable dyed. I also make simple quilts often using my carded sheep fleece as batting. In addition to my shed, there is also a shepherd’s hut in the field together with sheep and chickens.
I have done a considerable amount of vegetable dyeing using the woad I grow and am now needle felting my wool.
Each day I will demonstrate ONE of the following – embroidering on wool or felt – spinning flax – and knitting with wool from my Poll Dorset sheep. The large Glimarkra loom is also warped and ready to weave with wool from my Poll Dorset sheep
