About this event
I warmly invite you to join me for a studio experience day, to discover, or build on your knowledge, of painting with acrylics while creating this beautiful river scene in acrylic paint!
Beginners are welcome, however we will be covering lots of info, so even if you have been painting for some time I hope you will pick up some great tips from the day to advance your practice (minimum age requirement is 16).
All materials provided, along with hot drinks and biscuits through the day. We will aim for you to have a completed painting to take home, however a full materials list is provided to refer to if you would like to continue painting after our day together.
No experience is necessary; I would like to welcome complete beginners, to anyone who would like a refresher in the fundamentals of acrylic landscape painting. If you’d like your colours to be cleaner, more accurate and more realistic, then this is the class for you!
With over 25 years of painting experience, I will share with you the key foundations of not only how I go about creating a painting, but also the reasons why I work in this way, with insights which took me years to learn, and which I hope you’ll find really level up your practice. My aim is for a fun filled and inspiring day, which will empower you with new skills to bring to your work long after the class has finished.
We have a stunning location for our studio space, courtesy of Enchanted Valley Yurts. This gorgeous valley is managed for wildlife, and provides truly inspiring and relaxing natural surroundings for our classes.
These are designed to be smaller, welcoming classes of up to 5 people, to allow you to have the best possible experience, with plenty of support. The next class, ‘Paint an Autumn River Scene – Lanhydrock’ will be running on the 26th of October, and also on the 16th of November, from 10am-4pm on both days. Places are limited, please book as soon as possible through the link to my website to avoid disappointment.

We have a car park available for students to use, please drive through the farmyard and follow the signs to the parking area at the back of the stables. From the car park there is a lovely short walk across a sloped grassy field. Therefore it is advisable to wear sturdy and water resistant footwear, or bring wellies and a change of footwear for the indoor activity, as even on a sunny morning the grass can still be quite wet from the night before. All facilities on site are in cosy log cabins, with steps to access.
