About this event
The hysterical meets the historical in this brief history of cartoons, from Gilray to Peanuts, presented by award-winning cartoonist Harry Venning. His work has appeared in publications as diverse as the Telegraph, Mail, Radio Times and the British Journal Of Wound Care. But, he is perhaps better known for his strip cartoon, ‘Clare In The Community’, which appeared in The Guardian for 25 years and was adapted for BBC Radio 4 as a sitcom starring Sally Phillips. Thrill to see Harry draw cartoons live on stage, gasp as he explains what to do with a ‘waftatrom’, groan at his terrible joke about the Eskimo brothers. Suitable for family members of 10 years old and upwards. Except the miserable ones.
