ARTchive – Cornish gardens and hedgerows with artist Sue Lewington

Book now for our next ARTchive, on Saturday 3 May, 10am-3.30pm, inspired by our exhibition about Cornish gardens and gardening, ‘What will summer bring?’.

Celebrating spring in Cornwall, this is a day to create a simple handmade book to fill with the life and colour of May, with artist Sue Lewington.

We will use collage, text, drawing and colour, and there will be plenty of hints and help given.

Sue will bring along the materials needed to make the books as well as magazines, books, pictures and postcards to cut up and use for your creations.

No experience necessary. Good company and inspiration provided.

There will be pens, pencils and colours to borrow. Please bring along a basic kit of pens, pencils, scissors and watercolours if you have them – also any photos of favourite gardens and hedgerows.

The workshop costs £25. This includes a cup of tea or coffee, as well as a slice of traybake cake from the Arch Café.

Lunch can be ordered from the Arch Café and is payable separately, or you can bring a packed lunch if you prefer.

Accessibility

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
