Learn how to make your very own clay pyramid
In this workshop, learn how to make your very own clay pyramid, ready to be installed for the White Gold festival. The white pyramids surrounding Wheal Martyn are one the most iconic symbols of the china clay industry. Although they could be seen as just the spoils of the industry, the pyramids have become part of the identity of the area and a reminder of the importance of the industry. Artyology are offering a series of art workshops focusing on clay heritage, including the opportunity to make your very own pyramid structures. The pyramid structures will be exhibited as part of the White Gold festival on Saturday 21st September at Wheal Martyn and installed on the clay trails leading up to Wheal Martyn. All are warmly welcome, no previous art experience necessary, from ages 8+, including adults. Please wear suitable clothing for mess and weather. The workshops are free, but usual museum entry still applies. No need to book, just drop-in to the museum.
