'Living with Austerity' - Penzance Litfest presents Neil Carpenter.

A retired teacher, Neil Carpenter is now a volunteer advocate for adults with a learning disability. Focusing on five men living in West Cornwall, Neil’s first book highlighted a national injustice affecting some 1 million adults with a learning disability, living under austerity. Over 1,700 copies of the book were sold, a common reaction being: “I’m ashamed to live in a country that treats people like this”. Neil brings the story up to date.
