About this event
Our new Autumn concert series is underway! Over the next few weeks, our concerts will take you on a voyage of contrasts, introducing both new repertoire and new performers. In October, Chapel Street Ensemble will perform two masterpieces of Russian string music by Shostakovich and Borodin, alongside some luscious Rachmaninov songs, sung by soprano Taylor London.
In November, two concerts: an exciting, specially curated programme of music for wind and piano written by women composers, followed later by an afternoon of gorgeous music for strings and flute, featuring our exceptional flute player, Jenny Farley.
And finally, in December, we will be ringing in the festive season with a concert of English songs, ballads and duets from the Victorian and Edwardian eras, given by two voices new to us: William Semple (baritone) and Mark Hounsell (tenor) together with Taylor London (soprano) – we are fortunate to have so much splendid vocal talent from within our county!
