About this event
Babe Station Live is a roaming series of literary and arts events featuring readings and performances by writers and artists who self-identify as mothers or have experienced child loss, pregnancy loss or infertility issues.
We are excited that our third event will take place at the Studio Space, Newlyn Art Gallery, New Road, Newlyn, Penzance, TR18 5PZ on 15 August 2026.
Coinciding with Caroline Walker’s exhibition ‘Mothering’, this event takes the theme of care(lessness), featuring readings and performances that deal with vulnerability, indifference, exposure, indulgences and overspills.
Line-up to be announced.
Readings will start promptly at 3pm.
Tickets: £10*
*Performers receive a share of ticket sales as payment. To help us support the artists, all attendees aged 2 and over require a ticket.
Please note: This is a family-friendly event, and bean bags and yoga mats will be provided for little ones. However, some performances may include themes or language of an adult nature. Parents and carers are encouraged to use their own discretion.
About Babe Station
Babe Station is an artist-led organisation exploring the relationship between making art and the maternal experience. It aims to support and give space to any person who self identifies as a mother or has experienced child loss, pregnancy loss or infertility issues through discussions, workshops, events and exhibitions. In March 2025, Babe Station curated ‘Sorry about the mess’, a large-scale exhibition on Shaftesbury Avenue, supported by Bow Arts and featuring over 20 artists and writers who are also mothers, and in October 2026 a second iteration of the show, featuring all new artists, will be staged at Birmingham School of Art. Babe Station also recently launched a new Artist Development Programme for artist parents and carers in partnership with Kinfolk Families and MATERNAL FANTASIES.
