About this event
Barbara trained at Bath Academy of Art and after a teaching career made a home and studio in Cornwall.
Travels in Mexico, Guatemala and Singapore inspired her flamboyant series of flower and foliage subjects, which she has continued to evolve in her own and other gardens.
Landscapes and seascapes, mainly of Cornwall, are usually sketched ‘en plien air’ and worked up into oil paintings in the studio. Finished pastels are usually completed in a single session to capture the light and weather at the time.
The artist will be available at all times to assist visitors. The location is very central to the town and there is a ramp access to the studio which is on the ground floor.
Lostwithiel is a very pleasant historic town on the river Fowey. There are many antique shops, good eateries etc free parking and river walks (one of which leads to the studio).
Nearby is Restormel Castle open to the public. Visitors are very welcome and refreshments are available. Parking is available but please use the town if possible.
