arney Kenny is making waves as a solo artist on the folk scene, having shared stages with names like Seth Lakeman, Baskery, True Strays, Martin Carthy, Iona Lane, Geoff Lakeman, Mishra, Mad Dog McRea, Wille and the Bandits, Rusty Shackle, Kitty Macfarlane, Langkamer, and Blair Dunlop. With a 6-string and a Lapsteel slide guitar in hand, Barney has toured the UK solo, as part of the duo Tamar, and alongside his musical partner Chris Murphy (USA). But don’t expect your typical ‘folk’ sound from him—his music is a lively mix of world influences, blues, and rock, blending storytelling with an energetic, foot-stomping delta vibe.

Barney’s captivating slide guitar skills and his punchy, rhythm-driven playing perfectly complement his rich lyrical storytelling. His live sets are full of variety, jumping from Anglo-Celtic melodies to southern blues-rock and even reimagined traditional transatlantic tunes. He’s been racking up thousands of views on the Narrowboat Sessions and across social media. Now, he’s promoting his latest release, The Seaton Tapes—a raw, live-in-session album that truly captures his unique sound and style.
