It’s time to unleash the beast at the Beast of Bodmin Carnival.
This exciting Summer event celebrates the mythical Beast of Bodmin and its iconic moorland home.
Includes live music, fireworks, lantern procession, crafts, Punch & Judy, and much more, offering you fun, adventure and a few surprises for the whole family.
The Museum* comes alive with activities from 9:30am:
– Indulge your creativity in craft workshops
– Be entertained by Punch and Judy in the Courtyard
– Marvel at the famous Valerian circus performers from 3pm
– Lose yourself in the stories from the £8.5million immersive Bodmin Jail Museum
– Delight the children with a beast of a makeover – face-painting throughout the day in the Naval Wing of the Museum
– Unwind with a Cornish pasty and ice-cream at the Beast Feast, a food extravaganza using fresh, locally sourced produce
The evening celebrations kick off from 6:30pm:
– Join the mesmerising lantern procession as it bursts through the imposing gateway to the Jail
– Relax with live music and a hog roast before the grand fireworks finale
* Normal admission rates apply for the Museum
Accessibility
Details
The Jail is accessible for standard wheelchairs and mobility aids, up to 630mm in width. Lifts are available to carry our less-mobile visitors between floors. Find out more on the FAQs page of the website.
