Join us from March 5th–8th at Falmouth Art Gallery for a vibrant four-day celebration of women, craft, and community. Benow Festival is an annual event dedicated to highlighting the work of women makers, fostering creativity, and providing opportunities for hands-on learning.

This year, we’re bringing together incredible artists, craftswomen, and facilitators to lead workshops, discussions, and interactive experiences designed to inspire and connect.

What’s On?
🎨 Cast Hands Sculpture Workshop – Create a plaster cast of your hands, either holding a loved one’s or using your own, led by Katri Paakkari. A unique and intimate way to explore sculpture.

🧵 FREE Stitching Messages & Adding Pockets – Craftivism Workshop – Join Make-A-Mends for radical sewing, exploring subversive stitches and seditious pockets. Learn how textiles can carry powerful messages.

🧺 Basket Weaving Workshop – Learn the art of basket weaving with expert maker Angela Firth, using natural materials to create your own woven piece to take home.

🎭 FREE Clay Play Workshop – Join us for an engaging, all-day, hands-on session where you’ll sculpt and shape with clay, morning session run by Rowena Tarplee, and afternoon session run by Ellie Birkhead.

🖌️ Brush Making Workshop – Discover the skill of handmade brush making with Ellie Birkhead, using natural materials and woodworking techniques to craft your own custom brush.

💬 Round Table Discussion – Women Makers: Craft, Sustainability & Innovation – A panel featuring leading creatives discussing the role of craft today, sustainability in making, and the future of women in the arts.

Plus, enjoy free refreshments all day and evening Saturday.
