About this event
Explore the meadows and woodland valleys of Boconnoc at dusk into the evening, as we have the pleasure of being treated to a guided walk by ecologist and ornithologist Robbie Phillips.
Dusk is when many of the creatures living on the estate wake up and you can hear the screeches and calls of our nocturnal animals as they head out on their evening hunt. We will hope to hear tawny owls and possibly barn owls as well as listening to bats using a special bat detector.
We are delighted to be welcoming Robbie back for a second year, to host this event. As part of the evening’s agenda, we will also have a hands-on experience with moths, setting a moth light (harmless to moths) at the start of the evening to see what has come in by dark. This will give everyone the chance to see some of the beautiful species we have at Boconnoc.
This is a rare opportunity to explore the private grounds of Boconnoc which are not usually open to the public. Alongside this you will be treated to expert knowledge from ecologist Robbie Phillips. A truly wonderful experience for nature lovers aged 12 and over.
