Novello-nominated singer songwriter, written for Eddi Reader, kd lang, Natalie Imbruglia (+workshop)
Catch one of the UK’s finest songwriters when Eddi Reader collaborator Boo Hewerdine plays the Town Hall, Wadebridge, Sat 13th July, as a fundraiser for the Cornwall Folk Festival.
He will also run a songwriting workshop while in North Cornwall.
A prolific composer, he was the creative force behind seminal 80s band The Bible. He’s written for artists including KD Lang, Paul Young and Natalie Imbruglia.
His hits for the former Fairground Attraction singer include the Novello-nominated ‘Patience of Angels’, ‘Bell, Book and Candle’ and ‘Dragonflies’, plus many co-authored with Reader.
He’s recently duetted with Squeeze’s Chris Difford and Kris Drever of Scottish folk band Lau.
A naturally gifted raconteur, his gigs are always a total joy. Look out for songs from his 2019 album ‘Before’ as well as from back catalogue of pure magic.
His music “may draw you in … but it is also his dry humour, his self- depreciation and anecdotes of a profession well lived that catches the attention of his live sets.” Liverpool Sound and Vision
Learn to write songs from the master!
Boo is famous for his songwriting workshops. He wants to pass along some of the lessons, tricks and processes he’s learned over many years in the business, to help other writers from all levels of expertise write better songs.
One of Boo’s proudest moments was teaching Cornwall’s The Changing Room’s Tanya Brittan how to complete those unfinished numbers. She went on to beat him to a writer’s award, and he produced their first album!
This workshop is limited to 15 people, Sat 13th July 2-4pm in the Goods Shed, Southern Way, Wadebridge PL27 7BX. Only available as a combined workshop/evening concert ticket.
