About this event
Brother Sea are a South West based Celtic-folk band that brings together the acclaimed duo Harbottle & Jonas, with award winning song writer Kris Lannen and the haunting Celtic tones of Annie Baylis on fiddle.
Their music is that of departure, adventure and new beginnings, sweeping you away with a sense of boldness and innocence with hypnotic vocals accompanied by classic folk instruments. Brother Sea create a sense of awe and intrigue with songs like campfire stories exploring heritage and folklore as they gently flicker through captivating soundscapes.
They released their self-titled EP, Brother Sea, August 2019.
Cornwall based indie duo, Our Atlantic Roots (Mac and Laura Johnston) bring an uplifting blend of American and British alternative folk, with harmonies that are rich and dynamic. Mac’s country bluegrass roots add a popular authentic southern vibe to many songs, with the more folk-inspired influence coming from Laura’s side of the family being English and Irish.
Recent media appearances include singing live on both BBC Radio Devon and BBC Spotlight after the duo won the country music category of the UK songwriting contest in January 2020. This is an international award judged by Grammy, Emmy, CMA and Brit award winning judges.
