About this event
Cornwall shanty favourites Bryher’s Boys return to St Ives September Festival.
They will drop anchor at St Ia’s Parish Church on Friday 16th September.
Bryer’s Boys were formed back in 2017 when the tenor and bass sections of several West Cornwall choirs were Press Ganged to form a new Crew to navigate the choppy waters of Sea Shanty singing.
Based in West Cornwall – from Newlyn to Truro – they were proud to represent Cornwall at Brittany’s Festival 2019 Interceltique/b> singing to 9,000 people at a time!
They released their fist CD ’The Ballad of the Boy Jacq’ the same year and are delighted to be returning to the stage post-Covid restrictions.
They will bring their unique mix of traditional Cornish songs, shanties and shaggy dog stories to St Ives.
Most recently, this Spring, Bryher’s Boys’ music reached a national audience of millions when it featured in two episodes of the hit BBC TV series “Rick Stein’s Cornwall”.
Door Open and Licensed Bar from 6.00pm. Show starts at 7.00pm
