About this event
Inspired by the wild beauty of the Cornish coast, where sea foam catches the light as waves roll over rock and shore, this full-day workshop invites you to create your own tactile, sea-inspired ring using the ancient art of granulation.
Working with recycled sterling silver, you’ll learn how to transform tiny fragments of metal into delicate silver spheres, before carefully fusing them onto your ring to create a surface that echoes clusters of sea bubbles — organic, luminous, and full of movement.
Granulation is one of the oldest jewellery-making techniques in the world, dating back over 3,000 years. Long before modern tools, ancient artisans perfected the skill of forming and fusing miniature silver spheres into intricate decorative patterns.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners. You’ll be guided step by step at a calm, supportive pace, from forming your ring band to size through to creating and applying your granules, finishing with a beautifully unique piece of jewellery to take home.
If you already have some silversmithing experience and would prefer a shorter session, a half-day variation can be arranged where you bring in a pre-made ring or piece of jewellery — please get in touch to discuss.
