Callington MayFest 16th May Street Festival/ Song/Music/Dance/ Giants/Craft Market and more.

Callington MayFest 16th May, a street festival of Music, Song, Theatre, Dance Display plus craft market. The centre of the town is closed for this annual event. Starting at 10.00 with performances lasting all day. Mid day sees the the grand procession of Giants, Town Criers, Morris Dancers, Vikings, Latino Dancers, MayFesters Band and Singers.
Bands appearing during the day include Captains Beard from Sussex, Pirates of St Piran from St Austell, Tom O’Rielly and the Swaggers, and Morzim plus the excellent Mayfesters Band. Singing groups include Callington Gospel Choir, Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir, and the superb MayFester singers.

Performances will take place by little Trebiggan theatre company ,( Diggory the worst Pirate) and especially commissioned Callington Chronicles with Katie Kirk and Friends.

Special for this year will see the south west formation team horses performing courtesy of Heavens Thunder.
We will also see the return of Telynore (Harpers), Anthony Rose and Skylark not to mention the grand ensemble Lost Y Ukes.
The craft market will feature local artisans work.
