About this event
My studio is situated opposite my home, follow the signs and you will find it nestled in the valley of Port Isaac. It is an old fish store filled with an eclectic mix of finds which influence my paintings and prints. My work celebrates a strong sense of place and I enjoy working on a large and small scale and am captivated by subjects which are both familiar and unassuming such as wild flowers, stonewalls, pebbles and the daily catch of lobsters and crab. The subjects I’m drawn to are based on shared stories, folklore and yarns about the village of the past. These touch on themes such as the passage of time and through them I like to subtly hint at issues associated with those living and working in a rapidly changing coastal and rural environment, but of equal importance their simple beauty evokes the place I love.
I will be running a workshop on Tuesday 30th and Thursday 1st June 1pm – 3pm for 6 people, which will involve exploring a sense of place and creating, through paint and print, a keepsake. Please contact me for more information and to book: 07966 501 156
