About this event
I live on The Lizard, close to the sea, the cliffs, the open skies and the ancient stones. My work is inspired and nourished by this rugged landscape and its constantly changing weather. The work is a reflection of walking through and being in, a landscape. I gather visual material from the multiple views that come in and out of focus on the journey and the changing shape and scale of the elements as you move up and down and through the land. Through daily walks I have come to know the landscape in all its seasons and experienced every weather known to man and beast.
Two abiding themes run through my work: the re-mapping of landscapes according to my experience of both the internal and external journeys undertaken and marking the passing of time in different ways, from sunrise to sunset, from month to month and from equinox to solstice. My work is contemplative in nature and offers the spectator a time and space to make a connection to the natural world.

Details
Parking is very easy and there is plenty of space, but the footpath to my studio is in an open field and is uneven and on a hill. Rain can make it muddy and slippery. The studio is on two levels but the work can be seen from the entrance level floor. The door is a standard size and I think it would be difficult to negotiate with a wheelchair as there is a lot of equipment/easels/worktops etc and not a large amount of space in between.
