About this event
Listen with sound trumpets, draw with a shell, polish a stone, make beads out of clay or print with a fish.
Sound artist Bronwen Buckeridge will invite you to experience the world using your ears. Painter Alice Ellis-Bray will explore mark-making with inks, seawater and seashells, while Vicky Wiltshire will lead traditional Japanese Gyotaku, printing with squid ink and real fish.
Don Taylor returns with his popular Serpentine polishing sessions and ceramicist Finn Cameron will show you how to create clay beads using local clays, which will be fired at CAST’s Brickworks studio for use at later sessions.
Different activities are on offer at each CAST-Off session over the summer. Saturday sessions will be held at the Walled Garden, Penrose, from 29 July to 19 August, and Wednesday sessions will be held at Coronation Gardens in Helston from 2 to 16 August. The final session will take place on Wednesday 23 August at Gunwalloe Beach.
All activities are free. Just drop-in, no booking required. Donations welcome.
Participants of all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We won’t be put off by a bit of drizzle and hope you won’t either, but check on the day in case of extreme weather or last-minute changes.
