Free artist-led creative activities

Portrait painting, printmaking, wooden construction, fish kites, water play, clay

Make prints using leaves collected from around the garden and look for detailed textures from which to make rubbings. Build folk-inspired wooden constructions, paint a portrait of yourself or of a family member, and create a two-tone plaque out of clay.
Make a kite in the shape of a fish and explore ways of moving water uphill using structures made from channels, tubes and wheels.

CAST-Off sessions run from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm. All the activities are free and offered on a drop-in basis, no booking required. Participants of all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

On Wednesdays from 5 to 26 August, artist Lucy Grant will lead free drop-in activities in our ground floor Art Studio at CAST. There will be different materials and techniques to try each week, including painting, printing and making.
