About this event
Catherine combines her African heritage with her love of the Cornish landscape to create beautiful hand-formed contemporary Raku fired ceramics. She uses traditional hand building techniques, such as coiling and pinching to create vessels and sculptures and often combines these elements to create large scale installations.
Catherine is known for her vibrant and colourful Raku fired ceramics and is a Master Artisan as recommended by the Michelangelo Foundation Homer Faber Guide.
Don’t miss the exciting and elemental Raku firing demonstration with a Raku Kiln Opening at 2pm on both Sundays during Open Studios.
Catherine runs popular Raku Ceramics Courses and is always happy to answer questions about her creative process and inspirations. Her large rural studio is about a 10-minute drive from Penzance near to the beautiful Sennen Cove and Porthcurno beaches and not far from the Minack Theatre.
