About this event
Normally delighting audiences at Feasts and Festivals, the ever resourceful Story Republicans have risen to the lockdown challenge to create and share poems and stories in ingenious ways.
Delighted to be a part of The Causley Festival, The Story Republic has created a programme of much loved poems by Charles Causley, ever our inspiration. Some have been set to music by Rick Williams. Also new stories inspired by Causley or Launceston. There will be a strong flavour of the sea and the town where he spent most of his life. Moments of memory, laughter and pathos highlighting Causley’s wonderful way with words and deep sense of place.
Performers Connie Crosby, Nina Hills and Keith Sparrow will delight and entertain in equal measure with stories by Annamaria Murphy and Amanda Harris.
Also, in the run up to the Festival, look out on social media for 5 short digital stories from the Story Republicans, fusing the many talents of the Story Republic reflecting on Cornwall and also the current situation:
Distance by Keith Sparrow
Plenty More Fish by Penny Gunter
Lucy Wildhair by Annamaria Murphy
The Lobster Catcher by Olivia Lowry
Window by Jo Lumber
