Part of the Digital Causley Festival of Arts and Literature.

Join artist, Karen Howse, for a live drawing workshop inspired by your garden weeds!

Whilst on our daily walks, I am sure many of us have been noticing the beauty of weeds. Gather on Zoom, where Karen will introduce The People’s Herbarium Project, inspired by the giant Herbarium at Lawrence House Museum which was collected by local business man and botanist William Wise.

Karen will guide you to collect plants and invite you to take part in some playful drawing exercises that will help you to notice more. Beginners welcomed! Learn to see those weeds in a new light. Post your drawings and photos of plants on Instagram with #peoplesherbariumathome citing your home patch and the plant name if you know it.

Enjoy using drawing to explore your local wild and celebrate the overlooked and everyday plants that inhabit our gardens and edgelands.

Booking essential – limited spaces. Once you have booked you will be sent an invite link to the workshop nearer the time.
