About this event
Something happened, and no one knows why.
Overnight, all physical books vanished from the surface of the Earth, leaving people with only memories… and internet resources.
Two avid readers, who are at first are in complete despair over this terrible loss, quickly discover that there is more to digital literature, and in particular poetry, than PDFs…
Together, they go beyond the usual ‘real-life’ vs virtual discussion, to advocate for a more inclusive, and multi-faceted approach to poetry. An inspiring tale for the digital age!
Gertrude Theatre
Lisa Franklin is a Coventry based performance artist, producer and poet originally from Hull.
Lou Sarabadzic is a French bilingual writer and performer based in Warwickshire.
Together they founded the female-led poetic digital theatre company, Gertrude.
They explore theatre, poetry, dance and digital tools to create work that is interactive, inclusive, challenging and fun. They love to perform in non-traditional spaces and to include immersive and participatory elements to challenge people’s relationships with and ideas about the world around them.
In 2019, they were named as a Springboard Company by the Belgrade Theatre, in Coventry.
