About this event
Join Launceston Town Crier, Rob Tremain, as he takes us on a gentle stroll around his beloved ‘Lanson’. Enjoy the fact and fiction of Lanson and listen to some of Causley’s poems where they were set. Look at the parts of the town that you may not normally notice. Many of Charles’ poems spring from the town of his birth and his knowledge and love of the place.
Walk with Rob in Causley’s footprints, and hear about the people and places that have made it the town that Causley knew and loved.
Rob’s love of Launceston is such that he continues to live here with his wife always taking an interest in the town, its community and history. He is an Altar Server and Sacristan at St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, President of Launceston Old Cornwall Society and a Member of the Cornwall Archaeological Society. Rob was made a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedh in 1998 and took the Bardic name Cryor an Dre Lanstefan. Cllr Tremain has been Launceston’s Town Crier for over 40 years and in 2019 was made an Honoured Burgess of the Town of Launceston in recognition of his considerable contribution to the Town.
