About this event
See Luke Jerram’s spectacular touring artwork, Gaia, from a truly unique perspective by taking a Celestial Heights Tour at Truro Cathedral this October.
During the approximately 30-minute guided tour, you’ll access usually hidden parts of the cathedral as you ascend the small stone spiral staircase then walk through the cathedral roof space before arriving at the High-Level Gallery, where you can gaze down upon Gaia. The perfect viewing spot to appreciate the Northern Hemisphere!
Tours will be taking place on 13 specific days/evenings during Gaia’s stay this October. A maximum of five people will be on each tour and the tours will be popular so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Tickets for tours running during General Visiting times are £12.50 per person. Tickets for tours running on Gaia By Night events are £19.00 – this covers both your Celestial Heights Tour (£12.50) and your Gaia By Night admission fee (£6.50). All funds raised will directly support the care and upkeep of Truro Cathedral.
Please note: This tour involves ascending a tight, steep 101-step spiral staircase and walking across narrow wooden gangways, so you must be reasonably fit and comfortable in small spaces. Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for anyone under the age of 11, and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, anyone with a medical condition affected by exercise, activity or exertion cannot take part in these tours. Participation in the tour will require completion of a waiver.
If your tour takes place during a Gaia By Night event, please be advised that anyone attending with you who has not booked onto the tour will need a Gaia By Night ticket – £6.50 per person (under 11s free).
