Exquisite chamber music featuring Schubert Cello Quintet, Britten and Korngold

Join us for an intoxicating performance of Schubert’s Cello Quintet – a masterpiece of chamber music for two violins, viola, and two cellos and widely regarded as one of the greatest chamber works ever composed. With its rich, dark textures and soaring melodic lines, this is profoundly emotional music; with contrasting lively rhythms and brooding shade, it is full of energy and impact.

The programme commences with Korngold’s Abschiedslieder performed by internationally renowed soprano, Rachel Nicholls, with Ashok Gupta, piano and features Britten’s Canticle V, performed by tenor David de Winter, with Alis Huws former Royal Harpist.
