Christmas at Cotehele: the 1980s Garland
Celebrate 65 years of the Christmas Garland tradition by stepping into the hall to see this year’s garland.

This year we’re celebrating the 65th anniversary of the garland. To mark the occasion, we’re revisiting the past and recreating an early garland with its traditional, greenery-focused look.
The early garlands were inspired by the decorative greenery and kissing boughs that the Tudors brought into their homes in the winter.
The Great Hall will be dressed to replicate a photograph of the garland from 1981. Showcasing the beauty of the evergreen foliage and handfuls of dried flowers, celebratory above the festive banquet table.
You do not need to book to visit us this Christmas.
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
The entrance to the Hall is step-free. Please enter via Hall Court.
Egress from the Hall involves steps. Please follow signs for a step-free route.
