Penzance Literary Festival presents: 'Are You Braver Than You Think?'

Claire Davies is a former speechwriter and diplomat who is currently on a personal mission to pedal every European country from end to end, which, since 2023, she has accomplished in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Ireland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. But the ride that started it all was the iconic 1,200-mile cycle ride she undertook from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 2021 – unprepared, unsupported and alone, and about which she has written in her book, Braver Than You Think: Cycling to Self-Discovery, from Land’s End to John O’Groats

In this inspiring session, Claire will share what she learned about the healing power of nature, the kindness of strangers and the need to eat more than a pack of chocolate buttons to get over Exmoor. Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone?
