About this event
Collected Stories is a new exhibition from the artist group Wild & Unruly.
The show is open daily from Sunday 16 to Friday 21 October, between 11am and 5pm at The Crypt Gallery, St Ives Society of Artists, Norway Square, St Ives TR26 2SX. Entrance is free. The private view, to which all are welcome, is on Saturday 15 October at 6pm.
Susi Gutiérrez, Graham Pullen, Gary Rogers and Anthony Viney, the artists who make up Wild & Unruly, met and became friends when they occupied neighbouring studios at Higher Bussow Farm in Towednack, near St Ives. All four still live and work in west Cornwall.
The show’s title, Collected Stories, expresses the idea that every piece of art has one or more stories behind it: the story of the life journey of the artist who created it, a story about the experience of living and working in Cornwall or the story of how an individual work came into being. Some of these stories will also feature in the exhibition.
Visitors to the show will be able to enjoy a wide variety of work, including drawings, prints, paintings, pots, and sculptures made from mosaics and reclaimed wood. A common theme is the influence of the Cornish landscape and the rhythms of the natural world.
