About this event
For many Cornish speakers the high point amongst language events organised through the year is the Cornish Language Weekend (Pennseythen Gernewek). There is a long tradition of these Language Weekends, organised each year by Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek.
The Weekend is for Cornish speakers, of course, but that means speakers at all levels, including people that don’t know a word of Cornish but would like to learn the language. For those people, and people with just a little Cornish there are lessons throughout the weekend . For more advanced speakers, there are activities that will help them use the language in a variety of situations. For fluent speakers there are talks and discussion groups.
In 2022, the Cornish Language Weekend took place online, but this year we are delighted to be back with an in-person event at St Austell Arts Centre.
