About this event
A programme of Cornish short films, introduced by director Jonny Dry and followed by a Q&A discussion. Programme includes:
AN TAROW
Dir by Jonny Dry
When his daydreams become inextricably woven with reality, a quiet young boy finds enough courage from his mother’s Cornish tales to confront his abusive father.
OMLOWENHE
Dir by Taran Spalding-Jenkin
Omlowenhe is a Cornish word meaning ‘to celebrate’. In this short poetic film, writer and performer Taran Spalding-Jenkin celebrates Cornish events and what they mean to us, using home footage donated by the community.
YN MOR
Dir by Zoe Alker
A fisherman and his daughter spend most of their time at sea or apart, making for a fragile and hostile relationship. Spoken in the Cornish language and commissioned by the FylmK Cornish Language Heritage Fund.
All the films will be in Cornish and subtitled in English.
Doors 7pm, film 7.30pm
The bar will be open!
New members are always welcome and we are a friendly bunch.
Although the legal Covid restrictions will have lifted, we will be reducing our seating capacity and ask our audiences to be conscious of social distancing and wear a mask if possible.
The main event space is on one level, however there are two steps down to the toilets.
