Step into a Very Royal Summer of Play at Cotehele, inspired by Queen Charlotte’s visit in the summer of 1789.
Join in with royal-inspired games, imaginative play and challenges around for the garden fit for kings and queens.
Activities include take your royal portrait, design your crown, go hobby horse racing, build your palace, and take on the royal cricket and tennis competitions.
Complete your visit with a stop at the Barn Café, a stroll to the river and quay, and a wander through the woodlands to explore Cotehele Mill.
Most of the activities take place along a step-free route; there is one small step to access the Bowling Green, where one activity is located. Visit the ‘Accessibility’ section on our homepage for more details to help plan your visit.
Head to Visitor Welcome to start your visit and to collect your Summer of Play map.
The last entry to the house is at 4pm and the last entry to the mill is at 4.30pm. The whole property closes at 5pm.
