About this event
Join Quiet Connections and Creative Fieldnotes for a gentle evening of reflective creative writing inspired by HushFest’s celebration of quietness. Slow down, notice the small details often missed, and explore writing at a calm and unpressured pace.
In keeping with the festival themes of Quiet in Self and Quiet in Creativity, the session invites participants to see quietness as a source of imagination, creativity and connection rather than something to overcome.
The session will include short warm-up activities, including two-minute free writing and playful scribbling exercises, before moving into a longer creative writing session exploring themes of quietness, sensory awareness, personal reflection and mindfulness.
There is no expectation to speak, perform, or share work aloud, and participants are welcome to take part in whatever way feels most comfortable for them.
This workshop is part of HushFest, Cornwall’s Festival of Quietness, taking place from 4th to 10th July 2026. Through exhibitions, workshops, performances, and community-created artwork, HushFest celebrates quietness as a source of creativity, connection, and belonging.
