Grampound Road residents design our duet challenge
Dancing in Your Street is a hyper- local neighbourhood engagement activity for the village we live in – Grampound Road. Each week the village will help us to shape a new duet that will be performed by us on Fridays from 5pm through the village cul – de- sacs, bus stops & green spaces.
Posters will be displayed, information leaflets made available to collect and Facebook posts uploaded onto the Grampound Road facebook page, inviting residents to participate.
Throughout the week the neighbourhood will be able to give starting points e.g weekly themed stories, reflections on their isolation or memories of the village we live in. Their input is given back to us via the established Grampound Road facebook page or emailing us directly.
Our process will be shared on line as facebook posts and they can vote for specific choreographic features.
We will be releasing a Tik Tok or youtube class two days before the performance to teach a key motif they can all join in with.
On Friday at 5pm the duet will be toured through the village so people can watch from windows and their gardens. The final performance will be live-streamed on Facebook live and recorded so people can watch it again if they missed it.
This project can gather people together, in their isolated homes by sharing the same moment and engaging with the creative process through out the week.
