About this event
Our Star Theatre Company proudly presents a play written by one of our very own performers.
Death(s) at Sea, written by Our Star’s Eleanor Catherine Smart has been a long time in the making. First pencilled for a tour for Spring 2020, you can all guess what happened next… After several postponements, here we are four years later, where we are finally getting this show on the stage!
An extensive UK-wide tour this Autumn will take us from Cornwall to Cumbria and everywhere in between.
About Death(s) At Sea
This small theatre company is performing its new murder-mystery play, ‘Death at Sea,’ but despite its best efforts, everything goes wrong! The play is a thrilling murder mystery set on a small ship carrying just five passengers and its Captain. When one of the passengers, Mr Inus, is found dead, the remaining passengers speculate and turn on each other until the real murderer is caught…But that isn’t how this play goes!
In Death(s) at Sea, props fail, the set falls down, actors get drunk and concussed, and conversations in the wings reveal too much. If they can only make it to the end of the play before one of them really kills someone!
About Our Star Theatre Company
Herefordshire-based Our Star Theatre Company (OSTC) was officially registered at Companies House on 6th June 2016, the day Our Star founder, Ben Mowbray, left full-time education! The company started life, and remains to this day, completely unfunded – something Ben and the team are very proud of. Their first show was funded through facilitating extra-curricular Drama workshops at local schools. Now, OSTC runs Youth Theatre programmes in various locations.
Since that first show, we’ve not looked back! We’ve toured our shows to over 100 different theatres up and down the country, performing in large auditoriums and our local Village Hall. Who knew a little company from Herefordshire, who rehearsed shows in their garage, would ever get this far?
