About this event
Start the new year with a song in your heart and a spring in your step at a Cornish celebration of Twelfth Night – Degol Stul in Grampound Village Hall.
There’s no better way to round off the festive season than this celebration of Cornish Nos Lowen music and dancing. Based on the tradition of the Breton Fest Nos, this is an evening for all the family. With lively music and a relaxed atmosphere this is your opportunity to dance away the excesses of the festive season and banish the winter blues.
Feast at 5.30pm. A donation of £5 requested, vegans & carnivores catered for. Booking essential on [email protected]
Twelfth Night cake at 6.45pm to find the Degol Stul King & Queen, coronation and monarch’s parade with Bagas Crowd.
Nos Lowen doors open at 7.30pm, just £10 for 4 bands: Henavek, Heb Mar, Money to the Moon, Davey Dyer Duo.
The dances are easy to learn with no previous experience necessary – it’s a case of just ‘follow the leader’ with the emphasis on fun. Come along and learn some of the oldest and newest dances in the tradition, or alternatively you can just sit and relax and listen, soaking up the atmosphere .
