About this event
An interactive exhibition of paintings, ceramics , sculpture and jewellery considering the effects of climate change.
Join the Terra Mater Artists at the fantastic Royal Cornwall Museum, for their next exhibition, to see new work from 6 local artists and makers who are all concerned about the effects of climate change.
The show is called Degrees: referring mainly to the critical rise in temperature to 2 degrees which we need to avoid to prevent climate disaster. In the show you’ll be able to see:
• Paintings by Karen McEndoo and Dana Finch
• Ceramics by Laurel Keeley
• Sculpture by Whitney Manning
• Art jewellery by Sarah Drew and Donna Burns
Like many of us, the Terra Mater artists share a concern for the damage humans are precipitating on the planet, for the reality of climate change and the effect it will have on societies and eco-systems, on our whole way of life and very existence.
The exhibition aims to be as interactive as possible, with:
• Collaborative installation sending messages in a bottle to tie in with the Broken Promises found bottle neck chandelier
• Free half term kids workshop making plant walls, flood pictures and found jewellery on 24th Feb
• Meet the artist day on 15th March
• Free cocktail private view on 14th February
• Affordable pieces available in the shop to tie in with the exhibition
• 10% sales going to Cornwall Wildlife Trust
• Video installation from Cornwall Climate Care
